Sometimes when we go on site to an investigation it is revealed that the client has an attachment. More often than not it is the Medium or Sensitive that makes us aware of this situation but sometimes it can be discovered through the interview process.

So, what is an attachment? Attachments are better known as ‘Spirit Attachment’, ‘Entity Attachment’ or ‘Possession’ and can be determined to be at various levels or degrees of attachment. Primarily an attachment is defined as a conscious negative energy, discarnate being or entity that spiritually or physically attaches to the host affecting his or her mental, physical and/or spiritual state of well-being. It is a parasite.

Many people ask how they can tell or know if they have an attachment; while there are no sure fire ways to tell there are some basic indicators that you should be aware of, some of which deal directly with your health.

•Have you been recently diagnosed with a serious disease having no genetic or physical predetermination?
•Maybe you went to see your physician complaining of miscellaneous ailments and all the testing they do comes back negative but you still feel ill or not ‘right’?
•Have you had drastic recent personality changes or severe mood swings seemingly caused by nothing at all?
•Has your sleep pattern drastically changed, almost over night?

While the previous indicators are generalized there are other signs that indicate a ‘High Probability’ of Spirit Attachment, Entity Attachment or Possession. The following is a short list of what I believe to be more important indicators; if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms please seek medical diagnosis or assistance, and then seek spiritual assistance.

•Abrupt changes in behavior displaying increased anger, depression or thoughts of suicide.
•The sudden onset of fears or phobias where none previously existed.
•Unexplained physical problems, constant reoccurring headaches, serious illnesses, loss of energy and constant fatigue.
•Audible voices/Clairaudience when never demonstrated before.
•The ability to speak in tongues or foreign languages that are not previously known.

Many people ask where this negative energy or dark energy comes from. My best answer is that it comes from many sources; from our own minds, from the thoughts and words that were planted there by others and by our own fears and mental (and spiritual) shadows and also from other peoples projected negative energies. It is also believed that much of this negative energy has been around since the dawn of man. Remnants from God’s work left to establish the duality of life (positive/negative – ying/yang) that is all around us and recognized by every religion on the planet.

Entities and Spirits are usually Earthbound Spirits. Sometimes when a person dies in a sudden or violent death their spirit is not aware that they have passed on and are confused and don’t know to move into the ‘Light’ and thus stay in our realm of existence or plane. Many times they stay in a specific location or building, drawn to the intense energy left at the epicenter of the event that brought about their demise and become what we know as ghosts. Other times they are drawn to our life energy or emotional energy and tap into us or attach to us to survive in their existence; sometimes jumping from person to person.

Following the same train of thought, there are also Dark Entities and Dark Spirits which are also earthbound. However, some of these entities or spirits have never existed in the flesh and are truly demonic. Their primary goal is to harm, destroy or further strengthen the negative energy that is earthbound. We don’t know where they come from and look to ancient texts (Bible, Koran, Torah and the Vedas) for an explanation.

The next question we usually get hit with is how did I or a loved one get this attachment or become possessed? The answer could be anything from dabbling in witchcraft, playing with Ouija boards or other devices that facilitate spirit communication to some type of illness or ailment or even addiction (alcohol or drugs [illegal or legal]) that creates a weakness in your spirit, a hole in your aura that allows the attachment to occur. Many times you don’t have to be a participant in the alleged activities you just have to be present and in a weakened state for the attachment to occur. The most important thing to remember is this: If you are in a poor mental state, not spiritually strong and addicted to anything, you are open to attachment or possession.

To begin to rid yourself of this you need to begin with yourself and others in your family. Start by physically cleansing yourself with a sea salt bath. Find a Reiki healer and have your aura cleansed. Sometimes if an attachment is present the Reiki worker will refer you to a priest or shaman to drive whatever has attached to you away. Once you are rid of the attachment return to the Reiki worker to have your aura cleaned and strengthened. This should be done for everyone in your family that lives with you or is in constant contact with you.

Once you and your loved ones are taken care of, go through your home and remove any occult items. Look at everything, clothing, jewelry, even the music you listen to. If it doesn’t make God or your religious higher power happy, get rid of it. The home has to be cleansed and blessed so it’s important remove anything that is offensive to God.

To perform the cleansing you will need white sage, lavender, holy water, anointing oil, sea salt and a bible or your religious beliefs tome.

Begin by opening all closet doors, all cabinets and drawers so as to allow the days light in and the smoke of the burning sage. Remember to start in the opposite side of the room from its entrance so as to leave a means of egress for the unwanted entity, you want to get rid of it, not trap it. Once that is done I say a prayer of protection, ask for Gods help with my task and begin the cleansing.

Because my faith is Christian based I use the bible and recite Psalm 91 while burning the sage ensuring the smoke goes everywhere and inside every closet, drawer and cabinet. At the end of the Psalm I command the demon(s) to leave “In the name of Jesus.” and ask for Gods white light of protection to fill the room/cabinet/drawer and begin reciting the Psalm again.

Moving from the back of the room and progressing toward the room entrance: Once I reach the entrance I lay a line of sea salt and anoint the door and frame with the oil. The room windows are salted and anointed prior to the burning of the sage. If you don’t have anointing oil use the lavender oil to back fill the hole left by the cleansing. Do this for every room, hallway and storage space in the home. Pay particular attention to the beds in bedrooms, ask God to protect them and ensure they are a safe harbor for the child/wife or husband then anoint the head and foot of the bed. Then lightly sprinkle the holy water on the bed. Ask God in prayer for his protection and ask for the warring angel Michael to guard over you while you sleep.

The above process may need to be repeated several times. If a Minister or Priest hasn’t been employed and the situation still persists ask one to perform a house blessing. Don’t quit or give up! Below are two prayers I’ve found to be very helpful during the process:

Prayer 1:

Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray and do thou O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.  Amen.

Prayer 2:

I thank you, Lord, according to the riches of your glory, for strengthening my inner-spirit with the power of your Holy Spirit so that Christ may dwell in my heart. Through faith, rooted and grounded in love, may I be able to comprehend with all the saints, the breadth, length, height, and depth of Christ’s love which surpasses all knowledge; in Jesus’ name, Amen.
