Unexpected Guest

From the time we are very young and conscious of our existence in this world we are aware of our environment; everything is new, calling out to us to explore and discover.   

However, as we grow older and some say more jaded; our awareness changes.  We become desensitized.  Accepting only what society says is normal as being normal and continuing our travels on the path of life we have chosen to follow.  We remain steadfastly focused on our individual goals and dreams choosing to allow other things, not in our plan, to fall away.

Buffy Bag 101

Over the past seven years of doing paranormal investigations I can’t count how many times I’ve been asked by clients and prospective investigators “So what do I need to buy for equipment?”  The answer is a pen, pencil and legal sized pad of paper.

If you’re just starting out, with a group or by yourself, that’s really all you need at first.  That and the ability to ‘feel’ your surroundings.  The first thing I tell all my new inexperienced investigators is to start listening to your (what I call) ‘Spidey Sense’ and to be very aware of your environment.  Listen, smell, feel and sometimes taste what’s going on.  Usually after their first or second investigation I give them a basic list of ‘Nice items to have’ that a beginning investigator may want or need.  (continue reading…)
